STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™

OG Owner, Can't Recommend vs. KOTOR1

KOTOR II: TSL was rough at launch and people were talking about how unfinished it felt, was even then. I replayed KOTOR 1 a few years back and deliberately made a crazy build and still managed to have a blast with it, despite doing something I hadn't tried before. I've come back to KOTOR2 a couple of times now and the writing is just super railroaded and uninteresting to me. The lack of neutral options like in other CRPGs is off-putting - probably because late game has the prestige class options tied to morality and such that you'll be railroaded towards. I enjoyed the first few hours of my recent replay, but I don't feel like being subjected to the deliberately annoying character dialogue because I'm forced to take quests or get stuck not being able to RP my character close to how I'd like. I appreciate the end-game epic level additions compared to KOTOR1, but I just don't care enough to sit through 20+ hours of the game to get back to that point when I could just play another, old CRPG with more freedom engineered into it.
